I’m seriously trying.

I have talked to friends, online and local, as well as my local goverment whenever this shit comes up, and it all passes anyway. Why even bother? I’ve been so glad to switch most of my personal life to free and open source shit (with few exceptions, notably FL and Steam games), throwing my excess dollars around to try and get some shit done, no matter how small. With all the IDing shit for things, I won’t be suprised if even things like Signal or Stoat start getting hit. I’ll be fucking upset, but I won’t be suprised.

What’s really got my goat though is thinking about how many people will just go “yeah okay i guess this is normal now” and take the ass-fucking of a lifetime from Google. They have your BROWSER, they have your SEARCHING, they have your CONVERSATIONS to AI voice train on, they have your FUCKING CREDIT CARD, and now they want your ID? They’re one social-security number away from being able to impersonate you perfectly - then it’s really over.

I’ve been coming up with backup plans, just in case. Y’know, keeping in mind bitcoin ATMs and shit like that in my area, setting up the Tor Browser with a few bookmarks to get me started, even looking into setting up my own site with an onion link if things really go badly… I sincerely hope it won’t come to the point where I have to actually act on any of that, but it’s better safe that sorry.

That’s it, that’s the update. Life has been boring outside of politics that I can’t avoid, making my life (and everyone else’s around me) worse. Go find something better to do, I guess.
