Well, I’m still here.
I’ve been spending the past few days struggling without Discord, but I’ve been managing, a little. It’s been really lonely since then, but I still have people to talk to, notably on Steam. The only issue is that people ON steam don’t use the built-in chat feature whatsoever. Seriously, think about the last time you used Steam’s messaging feature that wasn’t some form of someone trying to scam you.
I’d like to think that having your own system of sharing thoughts on your own site, in your own fashion, with your own CSS and your own vibe would get people to actually read them. I mean, fuck, I would, and do. But people would rather have everything easily avalible to consume on their phone, on a single application.
Guess what? That’s what RSS feeds are for, idiots. Granted, I haven’t set up my site to work with RSS… Maybe in a bit? (Edit: As of May 14th, I started using Hugo. This actually automatically makes an RSS Feed! Awesome.)
Another thing, making everything FOSS is inconcievable, I guess. Though trying to get as much workflow as possible into there is my largest goal. Youtube is still a nessecary part of my life, because ADHD-ass brain needs some kind of serotonin. Without friends on Discord, it’s basically all I have. I’d consider Gamebanana also useful, if only because making custom mods can easily take up a LOT of space on my limited VPS hosting space. I’m probably deleting Doomworld, though. Not because I dislike the people on there, but because I don’t have a use for it anymore. I don’t play doom as much, I have a beefy-ass computer that can play newer games… Like… Minecraft, or something. Idunno.
Fuck it, since I’m already going on a tangent, and I’m typing like a lunatic, FUCK modern minecraft, dude. The new updates don’t add shit, and the MOMENT Microsoft bought Mojang is when everything started going downhill. They managed to keep things afloat for a while, but they were still having problems even then. The Nether Update was the last good update, and everything else has either been a waste of development resources, or not worth the effort that was put into them. We needed a use for copper, and we could have had copper golems, but no. Glow squid. Fucking glow squid. Whatever.
I’m going to spend the rest of my days playing beta minecraft to prove a point - Notch did minecraft better than Microsoft.
